Articling at SimpsonWigle LAW

We are currently accepting applications for the 2013-2014 articling term.  Interviews will be held the week of May 28, 2012 at our Hamilton office.  All applications are to be submitted by 5:00 pm on May 4, 2012.

 

Please e-mail articling@simpsonwigle.com and only include the following documents:

  • covering letter

  • resume

  • copy of your law school and undergradute transcripts to date (official transcripts may be requested at the time of your interview)

If required, references and reference letters will be requested of you at a later date. Please do not include these with your initial submission.

 

Your articling experience at SimpsonWigle LAW will include:

 

Rotation

You will complete two rotations while articling at the firm, one with our litigation group and the other with our transactions lawyers.  As a student, you will get exposure to all areas of our practice.

Mentorship

You will be assigned a mentor who will regularly meet with you to discuss how you are progressing and to provide guidance on your skills development.  We are direct, open and informal; you will get the feedback you need to grow.

Professional Development

SimpsonWigle LAW LLP provides an excellent arena for the hands-on experience that should form the basis of your training.  You will be given a great deal of responsibility for the files you work on and the opportunity to be exposed to or be involved in all stages of client work including client meetings.

Compensation

In addition to a base salary which is competitive in the market for 2013 articling students, you will receive extended health and dental coverage for the duration of your contract, two weeks paid vacation and half the cost of your Bar Admission exams.
