Firdaus is an associate lawyer at SimpsonWigle LAW LLP practicing in the Employment, Labour & Workplace Law Group.
Her practice ranges from litigation in many different forums to consultations regarding and preparation of contracts for all levels of employees and related workplace policies. Employer clients of the firm retain Firdaus to advise them with respect to disability and progressive discipline issues, fiduciary obligations, restrictive covenants and terminations. She represents employers in connection with wrongful dismissal actions in the Ontario Superior Court, complaints to the Human Rights Tribunal, prosecutions of offences under the Occupational Health & Safety Act and hearings under the Employment Standards Act, the Canada Labour Code and Workplace Safety & Insurance Act.
Firdaus is a member of The Law Society of Upper Canada, Hamilton Law Association, Ontario Bar Association and The Advocates’ Society. She obtained her B.A., LL.B. and LL.M ( Labour Law ) in South Africa. Firdaus practised employment and labour law with a large law firm in Johannesburg for 5 years before moving to Canada.
