Erik has appeared in all levels of the Ontario courts and several administrative tribunals. Erik's litigation practice includes, shareholder disputes, partnership disputes, partition proceedings, insolvency proceedings, commercial lease disputes, breaches of real estate purchase and sale agreements, professional negligence and debt enforcement proceedings. Among other areas, Erik has had experiences in managing "oppression remedy" applications under both the Ontario Business Corporations Act and the Ontario Condominium Act, 1998, Anton Pillar motions, and motions concerning certificates of pending litigation.
Erik also has significant experience with respect to civil proceedings under the Ontario Condominium Act, 1998 as he acts for a number of condominium corporations in the Hamilton and surrounding area. In this regard, Erik has successfully acted for a number of condominium corporations in proceedings concerning among other things, unauthorized changes to units / common elements and pet restrictions.
Erik acts for closely held corporations, trustees in bankruptcy, banking institutions and private individuals. Erik also acts for residential rental property owners with respect to proceedings in the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal.
