Michael is a partner in the firm and can be reached at our Burlington office. Michael enjoys a focused litigation practice. His practice areas include commercial and corporate litigation for business clients, wrongful dismissal actions for either employers or employees, professional negligence cases and estate and trust disputes.
Michael has the experience to represent our clients in the most appropriate forum required, be that court proceedings, mediation or arbitration. He advises clients regularly and represents their interests in regard to interim measures including interlocutory injunctions, motions to add or extract parties to an action, and through making applications to courts to resolve claims and other problems in an efficient and cost effective way. He has published numerous articles in legal periodicals and lectured extensively as a leader in his field.
Michael appears in the (Ontario) Superior Court of Justice regularly in Hamilton, Milton, Brampton and Toronto among other centres in Ontario. Michael has also appeared successfully in the Ontario Court of Appeal on numerous occasions over the last 15 years for firm and referral clients on appeal cases.
Other lawyers outside the firm from time to time seek Michael’s support and counsel for a specific referral matter. Michael is retained regularly to act because of a conflict or for a matter outside the referring lawyer’s area of practice. Michael is sensitive to the issues pertaining to the management of another lawyer’s client, and takes seriously the required respect and preservation of the referring lawyer’s client relationships.
